FORMER national badminton player Lin Woon Fui was charged in the Shah Alam Sessions Court today with two counts of cheating.
He was charged with deceiving a man in connection with online betting and a non-existent investment involving RM58,000 in 2016.
Lin, 39, pleaded not guilty to both charges.
He is accused of cheating a 39-year-old man by making him believe he could double the money by way of online betting and non-existent stock investments, and persuading the the victim to transfer money into the accounts of the accused and his wife.

Lin was charged with committing the offence in Setia Alam between June 6 and November 29, 2016.
The charge, filed under section 420 of the penal code, provides for imprisonment of up to 10 years, whipping and a fine for the convicted party.
Lin was allowed bail at RM17,000 and ordered to surrender his passport to the court. He must also report at a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission office every month.
